In the wake of several new acquisitions, we catch up with TROO Hospitality’s Head of Finance, Tanya Wilson,
to explore how Sage Intacct is supporting the business as it scales and diversifies.

Supporting Growth
Following its initial deployment of Sage Intacct in 2023, TROO has continued its acquisition journey with the platform at its helm. By adopting new capabilities that provide each general manager (GM) with clear, tailored insights, the team can inform strategy more effectively, enhance employee engagement, and improve the guest experience. This capability aligns closely with TROO’s “owner-focus” ethos.
As the business has expanded, adding Yotel Edinburgh and Billesley Manor in 2024 and welcoming Chester Zoo to its portfolio in 2025, this model has scaled alongside it. According to Tanya Wilson, Head of Finance at TROO, Sage Intacct has made it easy to accommodate and integrate new entities:
“The process of integrating new acquisitions can be very lengthy when systems don’t talk to each other, and resources are tied up manually uploading or rekeying data. But with Sage Intacct, new entities can be added quickly via a new tab, and comparisons and reconciliations can be completed in just a few clicks. Because budgets and forecasts are already held within the system, we can continuously monitor each property’s performance against them through dashboards and download monthly reports that clearly show our position.
“This brings consistency to the acquisition process, as all functions and data sources can be added seamlessly for consolidation, fully compliant with USALI standards, and ready for reporting requirements.
“Data is so easy to convert and transfer, allowing us to hit the ground running and accelerate value, making benchmarking simple. We leverage insights from Sage Intacct to derive relevant KPIs, which we use to build and track performance for each entity. This gives us the ability to respond quickly to changing dynamics, compare performance, and understand what’s working well, or otherwise, across our portfolio.”
Operationally, Sage Intacct is also delivering significant improvements in accounts payable (AP) and month-end processes, as Tanya explains:
“AP is intuitive and easy to complete because all information is in one place, making reconciliation simple. And our month-end continues to improve. Because invoices are uploaded directly into Sage Intacct for efficient reporting, we can access timely, accurate, and insightful reports in just a few clicks, informing strategic decision-making and driving greater efficiency.”
This real-time visibility also builds agility into TROO’s operations, whether responding to tax increases or capitalising on opportunities such as the Edinburgh Festival, driving higher city-centre hotel prices.
