What’s New in the Latest Release?
Percipient Pre-Sales Consultant, Kody Devlin, shares her highlights
of what you can expect from the third Sage Intacct release for 2025 (R3 2025).
Introducing Sage Copilot
Smarter Help Search (Phased Rollout)
What it is:
Finding answers in Sage Intacct is now faster and more intuitive with new AI-powered Help Search, Sage Copilot.
Copilot uses semantic search technology -the same kind of intelligence behind modern search engines – to understand the context of your questions and deliver precise, relevant answers instantly.
This feature is currently rolling out in phases. Early adopter feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, and Sage Intacct Look forward to welcoming more customers as they expand the rollout further throughout 2025.
Why this matters:
• Ask questions naturally: No need-to-know exact field names or menu paths – Copilot understands plain English and Sage-specific terminology.
• Faster resolutions: Cuts down the time spent hunting through articles or waiting for support.
• Learn as you go: Get helpful links and suggestions to deepen your product knowledge.
Example:
If you’re managing a multi-entity setup and want to know how to handle cross-entity bank reconciliations, you can simply type:
“How do I reconcile bank accounts across entities in Sage Intacct?”
Copilot immediately provides the correct guidance and related articles—no trial-and-error searching required.
Accounts Payable
Approval Delegation for Out-of-Office Approvers (Now Available)
What is it:
Approvals shouldn’t grind to a halt just because someone’s on holiday or out unexpectedly. With Approval Delegation, you can now keep AP invoice approvals moving seamlessly, even when an approver is unavailable.
Why this matters:
• No bottlenecks: Invoices automatically route to a delegated approver, avoiding payment delays.
• Flexible coverage: Delegation can be set up for individuals or entire user groups.
• Audit-ready: Every delegation is tracked, maintaining full compliance and visibility.
• Easy to manage: Approvers can set out-of-office periods themselves, and routing automatically reverts when they return.
Example:
Your Finance Manager is on a two-week holiday, but invoices still need approval. With delegation enabled, all new AP invoices during that period automatically route to a designated delegate (e.g., the Deputy Finance Manager), ensuring approvals continue without manual intervention or missed payments.
Accounts Payable
Deactivate Unused AP Accounts (Now Available)
What it is:
Sage have made it easier to keep your AP setup clean and prevent mistakes. You can now deactivate alternative Accounts Payable accounts that are no longer in use – without causing errors or breaking past transactions.
Why this matters:
• Reduce posting errors: Inactive accounts no longer appear as options on invoices or adjustments.
• Cleaner dropdowns: Simplifies account selection for AP teams.
• Safe deactivation: Accounts can be turned off even if they’ve been used in past transactions, helping with data hygiene.
Examples:
If you’ve stopped using a regional AP account but it still appears in your invoice dropdowns, you can now deactivate it. This prevents future postings to the wrong account while keeping historical transactions intact for reporting.
Accounts Receivable
Apply Payments Directly from the Customer List (Now Available)
What is it:
You can now receive and apply payments without leaving the Customers list, streamlining the way you manage customer transactions.
Why this matters:
• Fewer clicks: Apply payments directly while viewing customer records.
• Stay in context: No need to navigate to separate payment screens.
• Faster processing: Ideal for AR teams managing payments for multiple customers.
• Fully auditable: Every action is tracked in the Posted Payments audit trail.
Example:
While reviewing a list of customers with outstanding invoices, you can now select Apply Payment next to a customer’s name. A popup shows their open invoices, allowing you to allocate the payment instantly, without leaving the page or interrupting your workflow.
Cash Management
More Accurate Bank Transaction Matching (Now Available)
What it is:
Bank reconciliations just got more powerful. With access to new bank data fields, Sage Intacct can now match incoming bank transactions with even greater precision.
Why this matters:
• Smarter automation: Use additional fields – like payee details, bank reference numbers, and transaction description to automatically match transactions.
• Reduced manual corrections: Improves accuracy when reconciling high-volume bank feeds.
• Custom views: Create tailored views of your bank transactions to focus on the details that matter most.
Example:
If your bank feed includes payee IDs and reference numbers, you can now set up matching rules to automatically reconcile payments to the correct customer or supplier, minimizing the need for manual adjustments during month-end close.
