Vanarama is an award-winning personal and commercial vehicle leasing company. Having been created as a Startup in 2004, with a focus on delivering a cost-effective, simple way of accessing a new car, van or truck, the organisation now employs 230 people.

With the largest panel of funders, Vanarama has the greatest buying power on the market, enabling the team to offer the best leasing deals according to customer needs, as well as accompanying finance, insurance and maintenance packages.

Planning for the Journey

In the wake of significant growth, Vanarama embarked upon a review of its core business systems. Having used Sage Line 50 since its inception, the system could no longer process increasing transaction volumes efficiently, and the team therefore identified a requirement for new capabilities to underpin future business growth.

Following a tender process which involved extensive research of the ERP market, Vanarama selected Sage X3 based on its ability to scale and support high growth businesses. Key to the decision was Sage X3’s ability to manage the entire business via a single platform, providing both flexibility and robust capabilities from which to assume greater control and carve out competitive advantage.

Now live, Sage X3 is driving substantial benefits for the fleet leader. A well as having capabilities to process payment runs in high volumes, Vanarama can create reports on any area, for any group across the business, quickly and easily.

“Because the reports provide in depth insights at a unit level, we can view profitability in a given area in real time, even down to the specific vehicle registration,” Matt continues. “This granularity is hugely valuable in our planning, as we can ensure that we channel resources and marketing efforts into our most profitable areas. In parallel, the finance team have saved at least a day every four weeks in processing month end, which equates to 5% more resource which can potentially be dedicated to strategic planning.
